Frequently Asked Questions

For Registered Artists

Q: I'm having a problem and I don't see it mentioned here. Who do I contact?
A: Please send email to info@dedhamopenstudios.org .

Q: Is this website "secure"? I am worried about entering my credit card information, etc.
A: Yes, this site uses an SSL certificate to encrypt your information as it is in transit.

Q: Can you set it up so the address where I am exhibiting shows on my page?
A: Exhibit locations on artist pages is a feature we will be enabling once we have most of the artist locations assigned.

Q: Is it possible to have an image available so when someone clicks on "prints" (or other media types) they can see a print?
A: Once we have more people registered, you will be able to see all of the artists who do "prints" as media if you click on that link. You can always see each artist's images by visiting his/her profile page.

Q: Why does it say: expiring roles with a date, and member for: with a time? will these things be showing to the general public?
A: These are things that are not shown to the public. They are bits of information about your account on the DOS website. When you register for e.g. DOS2012, you are granted the "artist" role until after the event occurs, which is what allows you to log into the site, upload photos and change your profile.

Q: I also noticed I can go back and edit without entering my password.
A: Correct; after you register and pay your fee, you are automatically logged into the website, and you will remain logged in for several days on that same computer/browser. If you want to log in after a period of inactivity, or from a different computer, you will need to use the username and password you got in your Welcome email.

Q: Where do I log into the site?
A: You can log into the web site using your username and password from the Welcome email by going here:
http://dedhamopenstudios.org/user

Q: I already forgot my username and/or password.
A: Hopefully you kept your welcome email; it will be in there. If you remember your username, but forgot your password, you can just go to https://dedhamopenstudios.org/user and click "Request New Password". If you cannot remember your username, and you've discarded your welcome email, you can send email to info@dedhamopenstudios.org and someone will help you out.

Q: I registered with my real name, but I want to change it to something else, OR I need to change the spelling of my name, etc.
A: Just log into your profile at https://dedhamopenstudios.org/user and change your First and Last name. If you are changing from your real name to a company name, you can put it all into the last name field.

Q: I can't figure out how to update my profile/add an image/change a website/etc.
A: Pretty much anything and everything you need to do is on your profile page at https://dedhamopenstudios.org/user.
